No mo doe – or Mogo

I have observed with curiosity and horror-a
what results when deer meets car-a
she was hit at high speed
left on the road side to suffer and bleed

and in 2 weeks there’s hardly a trace
weather and scavengers help to erase
this dying place
only a few ribs and vertebrae
left for them to clear away

the doe was beauty personified
soft flanked, big eyed
grace immense
effortless she cleared the fence
to meet her fate
on the car’s grate

tragic destiny – but accident
Morgan, I hate that your life was taken with intent
and your body also tossed away
to decompose and decay

your story Mogo
quite different from the doe
not accident with S.U.V.
but murder by S.O.B.
took you from me

our baby
how can it be?

    Dear Gil,
just checking in to let you know that you and your family continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. I think of you and yours often. God bless.

    Dear Gil,
I read with relief today that the one who took your beautiful daughter from you has been charged with her murder! You’ve been in so many hearts these nearly six years and have carried your tragic loss with such strength and wisdom that I’m certain all these things have converged to this day now of justice. Though your loss can never be appeased, I believe Morgan’s spirit in the mystical realm of our faith has enabled this outcome to bring you the peace you so deserve-knowing that the one who did this will meet justice and punishment. God bless you Gil Harrington for the light of faith you have been to us all through these last six years.
