Updates from October 1, 2012

On October - 1 - 2012

Dan – continues to work diligently to ensure quality patient care through the education at both Carilion Clinic and Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. We are so happy to announce the first distribution of the Morgan Dana Harrington Medical Student Scholarship was awarded this year.

Gil – had the thrill of touring the completed Morgan Dana Harrington Education Wing at the OMNI compound in Ndola, Zambia during the July OMNI medical team trip to Africa. So fine to see classrooms and kids at desks learning because of you. Morgan you cannot travel, but your legacy of service and early education prevail regardless. Morgan you have created positive change in the world. Your life mattered.

Alex – is so busy, but managing to successfully juggle the challenge of international travel as well as the chaos of New York City in his hectic career in fashion with Vogue.

Morgan – three years out and your homicide remains unsolved – it is well nigh time for justice. The razor edge of loss still cuts. Most days we are able to move forward regardless.

Kirby – is just wiggy, beyond description or explanation. Kirby cycles beween aggression and sweetness in mere seconds. Face it, the dog has “issues” bue we cope and love him in spite of his many failings.

Morgan, give me the strength to make it through chemistry and be the best person I can. Sometimes this life becomes so overwhelming, I want you to know I am glad to see your family happy and strong. Sometimes others must not move on. I am not a great writer but I will never let our parents wishes and goals be just ideas. Please help me stay focused now that Gods divine intercession is within reach. Do not let us fail to Save The Next Girl.

I just cant be indifferent and I only feel happy when I am caring for others. God has been the structure of my life forever and nothing I say will be-sway the anguish of your loss so I just will tell you

I do love you 241 more time than forever.

P.S You seem good at mathematics to me!! That is very clever and I think few people grasp it’s total value and I got and that is a special bond I treasure and hope I served you by my actions not just words.

I hope the Virginia State Police are looking at the suspects in the recent Farmville, VA convenience store murders in connection with Morgan’s case. One of the photos of the suspects in that case bears a resemblance to the suspect sketch in Morgan’s case. Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your beautiful daughter and I hope justice will be served.

You do not know me, but I still check this page very often. I am thinking of your family and hoping for justice…

  7. Florence Chilenga says:

I was sitting in my livingroom on the evening of 3rd March 2013, somehow I turned to watch ID channel, and so found the beginning of a story on Morgan’s disappearance. I was so moved by this story and sat to watch with tears in my eyes on how a very promising life was taken so tragically. At end of the programme, saw what her parents have done in her memory – this was in my home country of Zambia, I was so moved. May the Good Lord ease the grief of losing your child, and that her death is not going to be in vain for the service you have brought to the underprevileged children in Zambia. Morgan’s memory lives in Zambia, she may not have visited the country, but her soul lives in Zambia. Peace to you.

I just saw this story on the show I watch often on Netflix “Disappearance.” I have seen many episodes but this story touched me the most. I am so sorry for your loss, but am very moved by the legacy your doing for your daughter! Now that it has been a little over 4 years has there been any new developments in the case? Did they find the guy? My thoughts and prayers are with your family that you get the justice you guys deserve! From all the way in Nevada!

Dan, Gil and Alex, As time goes on, I just want you to know that we still pray for Morgan and all of you everyday. We are waiting with you for justice to be served. I am so sorry this happened to Morgan and that they have not caught whoever did this to her yet. I hope you are all getting along ok. I know it will never be the same without Morgan, but she knows how much you love her. 241 -Lynda

  10. Pauline says:

I live in Australia. I watched the show Disappeared on Foxtel tonight about Morgan. I feel very sad that she has gone from your life. Bless your family and I hope that soon you will have answers.

  11. Dear Harrington Family,

I was saddened to learn of your loss. May Abba give you peace. Meanwhile, what information do you have to share about the Northern Virginia case or other cases that this DNA offender profile CODIS has linked Morgan’s attacker to. Maybe standing alone the case is unsolved, but there may be signature behavior in addition to the DNA that may reveal this attacker.

    Best wishes,

  12. S says:

I am so terribly sorry, your family has kept your beloved daughters memories alive. May you continue to keep her spirit alive and find grace in doing so.

  13. Heather says:

This story is such a tradegy. The police need to give the case to someone with fresh eyes to look into this. They have to be missing something. On the days where you get up and feel like you just can’t go on remember you will see her again.
